Museum of Natural Sciences

Having more than 700,000 visitors every year, the Museum of Natural Sciences is one of the most visited museums in America. Being established in 1879, it is also one of the oldest museums in the country. Besides animal skeletons and stuffed animals you can also check out a collection of live sea cucumbers and sea horses. From mid-May this year you'll have the chance of exploring the amazing world of dinosaurs. The overall admission to the museum is free, but for some temporary exhibitions you might be needed to pay. To make sure that the museum is opened we recommend you to go there anytime from Monday to Saturday between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM.

Frankie's Fun Park

We have the pleasure to introduce you the largest amusement park in Raleigh. By visiting this Park you'll have the chance to play mini-golf, to ride the Go-Karts or to step in one of the many thrilling rides. If you want to go one step further we recommend you to try the Bumper Boats or the Batting Cages. It's the perfect place for kids but the adults will have a great time as well. There's no entry free and a session in a ride costs approximately $5. Bring your friends and your family because there's always more fun if you're not alone.

North Carolina Museum of History

There's an attraction for all the history enthusiasts out there. The museum of History is located in the city center. This building has more than 100 years of age, being established in 1902. Besides all the history exhibits you can also admire the Sports Hall of Fame which is a collection based only on sports items. It is a good opportunity if you want to learn more about the American history. Being under the direction of local authorities, the entry to this museum is free. You can visit NC Museum of History from Monday to Saturday between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM.

Pullen Park

The most popular park in Raleigh is called the Pullen Park. This is the perfect opportunity to spend more time with your family since this area is very quiet. For kids there's a train in which they'll have a great time. The train passes through several areas of the park and you can even admire the lake while enjoying the ride. You can rent small boats and take a relaxing tour of the lake as well. They even have an area with snacks and drinks, and the prices are quite affordable. The entry to the park is free but you have to pay if you decide to rent a boat or to take the train.

JC Raulston Arboretum

JC Raulston Arboretum is a botanical garden located in the western side of Raleigh. The arboretum was designed and constructed by Dr. J.C. Raulston in 1976. There are 13 major gardens which contain all together about 5,000 species of plants. There's also a Japanese garden where you can admire beautiful tiles and Japanese sand. There is no admission charge for everyone who wants to visit this garden. The schedule might change during the winter, but during the summer the arboretum is opened between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM.
